About KOR

Three decades of service, rooted in Afghanistan

KOR is a non-profit, non-political Afghan NGO advancing health, education, capacity building, human rights, and peace.

How it began

A response to displacement that became a national commitment

KOR’s story began in 1992, during a difficult period when many Afghans were refugees in neighboring Pakistan. Founder Dr. Mohammad Farid Bazger began translating, writing, and publishing stories for children while also producing books for Afghan university students.

As needs changed, KOR expanded into community health, addiction prevention and treatment, HIV/AIDS awareness, workforce training, human rights, and peace-building. The same principle remains at the center of the organization: practical support should reach people who have too often been isolated or underserved.
